In my own work the metaphor of textiles is omnipresent. Textiles are usually considered a material, however I also consider it a metaphor for seeing the world intertwined. There is no coincidence that our language is made up of textile references describing the world and its connections. The words “Text” and “Textiles” derive from the same Latin origin, the verb “Texere” which means ‘to weave’.
